A NEW! kind of DRIP SYSTEM ~ ALTERNATIVE DRAINFIELD ![]() AMERICAN SINGLE VAULTED TANK SAND FILTER ![]() Wastewater is received from a septic tank into a combination recirculation tank and final pump vault. The system incorporates two pumps to manage system. The first pump is for the sand filter using conventional technology and the second pump provides the higher head required for the drip system. The sand filter recirc tank has four floats (Sand Filter Redundant-Off, Sand Filter/Drip Dose Enable, Sand Filter/Drip Peak Dose Enable, and High-Level Alarm) in the recirc tank associated with both pumps, and two floats (Redundant-Off drip and Drip Vault Dose Enable) in the vault associated with the drip pump.
OPERATION Sand Filter Redundant Off - The water level must be high enough to overcome the "Sand Filter Redundant Off" (first & bottom) float in order for the pump to be permitted to run. Sand Filter-Drip Dose Enable - When the water level rises high enough to overcome the "Sand Filter-Drip Dose Enable" (second) float the sand filter pump will dose the sand filter and the drip pump will dose the lead zone. The drip zones will be dosed a total gallons per day equal to 60% of the design flow when the "Sand Filter-Drip Dose Enable" float is in the up position. Drip Vault Dose Enable - When the water level rises high enough to overcome the "Drip Dose Enable" (second) float in the vault, the drip pump will dose the lead zone. Both the sand filter-drip dose enable and the drip vault dose enable must be in the up position for the drip field to dose. Sand Filter-Drip Peak Dose Enable - If the rising water level activates the "Sand Filter-Drip Peak Dose Enable" (third) float in the recirc pump tank, and the "Pump - Off - Pump & Alarm" switch is set to "Pump" the sand filter pump will dose the sand filter, then the lead zone will be dosed at 100% of the design flow during the peak. When the "Sand Filter-Drip Peak Dose Enable" float returns to the down position, the normal pumping cycle will resume. High Level-Alarm - If the water level rises enough to overcome the "High Level" (fourth) float, the audio/visual alarm will activate. The audio portion of the alarm may be silenced by pressing the Test-Normal-Silence switch (located on the outside of the control panel) to the silence position. The alarm circuit will latch until manually reset after the "High Level" float returns to its normal (down) position. DRIP SYSTEM PACKAGE SPECIFICATION
CONTROL The control has a Nema 4X rated enclosure with hinged inner door, removable aluminum backplate for component mounting, IEC rated pump contactor, adjustable pump run timer, high level peak enable circuit, Hand-Off-Auto toggle switches for all operations, pump run light, indicator lights, separate control and pump breakers, control fuse, and finger-safe terminal blocks with a neatly bundled wiring harness. The Control unit is U.L. APPROVED AND LABELED. The microprocessor has manual override capability to completely operate the system while bypassing the microprocessor. TUBING and FIELD FITTINGS
