American Manufacturing has developed a series of timer-based control systems specifically designed to meet the varying needs of the onsite and decentralized industry to control the flow of wastewater and to provide reliable notification of equipment failure. Utilizing timing relays, PLCs, and cycle counters, these systems are excellent for managing and monitoring the daily flows to drain fields with limited capacities.
Most time-dosed systems operate on four wide-angle differential float switches, three for pump control plus one float switch for alarm indication. Duplex pumps alternate after each pumping cycle to provide even pump wear. Duplex systems should include a pump fail alarm circuit to detect pump failure.
Time-based controls may be provided with timer override circuitry to manage excess water use. The timer override selector switch can be set in one of three positions: Off (disables the circuit), Pump and Alarm (pumps down the tank by the tether of the float switch and activates the alarm). The alarm will remain activated only for the length of time that the pump is running, providing an intermittent alarm, and therefore indicating excess water use. The selector switch may also be placed in the Pump-Only position (pumping the tank down without activating the audio/visual alarm). A cycle counter is provided with the override circuit so that in all three positions, an indication of the frequency of timer override events is available.
Additional alarms, cycle counters, and elapsed time meters can be provided for system monitoring and data acquisition.
SEQ, SEPR, & DEPR Controls
The standard “SEPR” and “DEPR” repeat cycle (“R” series) timed dose panels are configured with a repeat cycle timer for evenly spaced timed dosing from 1 minute to 10-hour intervals. This series of controls is utilized when short repeated cycles of pump events are desired. They are designed to provide flow equalization and are ideal for signaling an alarm condition for excess wastewater flow. Standard controls are available to operate single or duplex pumps for residential and light commercial flow equalization systems.
SEPT & DEPT Controls
This series of panels is typically used when longer cycles or time of day pump events are desired. They are designed to provide flow equalization and are ideal for signaling an alarm condition for excess wastewater flow. The standard “SEPT” and “DEPT” time of day (“T” series) timed dose panels are configured with a 24-hour time clock and pump run timer for selective interval dosing or for evenly spaced timed dosing. Pump events can be set to occur every 1/2 hour, in 15-minute increments, or as infrequently as once every 24 hours. Standard units are designed to operate single or duplex pumps for residential and light commercial flow equalization systems.
